I have found that patience is key when you’re working on your relationship with a Words of Affirmation sensitive spouse.
In Proverbs 14:29 it says:
A patient man has great understanding, but a quick-tempered man displays folly.
I don’t know how many times my non-affirming words come from a loss of patience or even an attitude of being quick-tempered. It is in the moments that I slow down, be patient, and think before speaking that I have the most success.
This is not easy (for me anyway), but I have found that a little patience goes a very long way when I’m communicating with my WoA spouse.
What tips or tricks do you have to combat a quick-tempered attitude and use patience with your WoA spouse?
