I’ve come a long way in my journey to speak words of affirmation to my spouse. That said, there are still circumstances that test my resolve. One of those is backing up boat trailers. It brings out the worst in me.
I will admit to being guilty of harsh words at many times in my marriage. The opposite of harsh words is a soft startup (or a gentle answer in the language of this proverb).
I’m happy to report that, with practice and the help of this community, my gentle answer side won this week and I was able to back up a boat trailer with my WoA spouse without harsh words.
